INNIT!!! GREAT IN SALFORD

Hello Everybody...!

You all know me in various forms or another and so please excuse this generic email....

It started as a poem....Then became a song....Now it's a full musical...

It's been described as a cross between Shameless on stage and Blood Brothers.

The Star says "Salford's answer to West Side Story"

The National said "Striking"

Jo Combes says it's "Unique, fresh and vibrant theatre"

But in actual fact it's INNIT: The Musical and after two years in development it has its world premiere at The Lowry this autumn.

The story follows Salford teenager Ashley as he tries his hardest to stay away from gangs and crime amid all the adversity surrounding him…An alcoholic mother, an absent father, two brothers in jail and a peer group only too willing to drag him down with them…

Of course it’s not all grit and stereotype…The songs range from the tongue in cheek to the poignant, from rock to ska, from hip hop to melodic beats and there is a love story weaved in to the plot between Ashley and his “too good for me” girlfriend, Stacey, as she ponders abortion.

There are moments that will touch you, excite you, offend you and sometimes maybe even frighten you as the estate gang involve themselves in the action...

All in all, the story is of redemption and asks many questions of the audience and of our society. It is entertaining and guarantees that you’ll be hooked by the second scene and singing “g for giro” or “wey hey we’re all on our way to the slammer” by the time you leave…

If this hasn't sold it to you...I have attached the flyer for proof...!

See you at The Lowry.....

Mick, Micky, Michael, Mikey, Simmo etc....!
